Our Story
MISSION & HISTORY.
The Baja Fire Foundation was founded, in response to the urgent needs observed during the devastating fires in Mexico in 2020. Witnessing the challenges faced by local firefighters and EMTs, the founders envisioned a way to empower the heroes of Baja California with better resources. Leveraging retired CAL FIRE Chief Daryll Piña's network within U.S. fire agencies, the foundation facilitates the donation of used but serviceable firefighting equipment and tools that would otherwise be discarded, promoting sustainability through the repurposing of resources.
As the Baja Fire Foundation continues to grow, our network and impact expands, enabling us to identify and meet more needs within the Baja community. By continuously recognizing new opportunities to provide additional tools, vehicles and educational services, we ensure that the foundation adapts and evolves to enhance the operational capacities of firefighters and EMTs. This ongoing development, fueled by an increasing number of partnerships and supporters, not only amplifies our ability to assist but also scales the positive change across the region, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and community safety.
